Summary

The Digital Product Owner is responsible for leading and interfacing with business and end users in the procurement, implementation and development of software and other IT solutions. The product owner will understand complexities of their specific products and improve products and user experiences and are responsible for managing the execution of products from planning through delivery, including team management, cross-department coordination, budget tracking, and performance. Effective management and reporting of risks and constraints which include, but are not limited to, schedule, resources, cost, quality, dependencies, and other risks. The product owner will communicate requirements, stories, expected outcomes and maintain current products through defects and improvements. Product owners will also work with technical leads to properly integrate or build features and products. These requirements are refined into stories to be consumed by the technical team through Agile practices when necessary.

1. Partner with the enterprise stakeholders in the product vertical to understand the product roadmap, strategy, and the individual problems that have been decided are worth solving. 10%

2. Create, curate, and communicate the roadmap with consistent market connection and feedback that is consolidated into a prioritized list of initiatives. 10%

3. Collaborate with technical lead to determine the best path forward to realize the product requirements and vision. 10%

4. Create, maintain, and execute product lifecycle work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. 10%

5. Coordinate and schedule communication within Digital Product Management, IT Development, third-party teams, and other YL organizations in conjunction with Agile Scrum teams when necessary. 10%

6. Identify resource needs or gaps; tracks and assigns as necessary individual tasks and responsibilities. 10%

7. Plan, schedule, and manage project timelines in an Agile software development environment. 5%

8. Communicate and manage expectations on product progress within respective verticals to stakeholders. 5%

9. Drive activities to increase adoption of assigned products, such as developing content, tools, and training. 5%

10. Provide support for assigned products by providing needed market and solution information to support marketing programs, events, and business operations. 5%

11. Assess market needs and challenges via focus groups, surveys, interviews and other market research. 5%

12. Serve as the primary interface with stakeholders to define products. 5%

13. Establish a product vision that supports a cohesive customer experience across each product and provides direction for each product roadmap. 5%

14. Solicit business requirements for new features and products to be incorporated into product requirements consumed by the product owner for execution. 5%

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.

Physical Demands

The employee is required to type, file, and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand, and telecommuting may be permitted on an individual basis as approved by management.

Preferred Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business or related field from a recognized four-year college or university, three to five years of hands-on experience in mobile application development and/or mobile product ownership. Proven track record with Agile methodologies.

While the above criteria are preferred, an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered as a substitute for specific requirements.
