Job Description:Intravision Greens USA role for a Crop Supervisor is to support our NJ indoor vertical farming facility. This role applies knowledge of equipment, machinery, field and process knowledge, Inventory Control, and product compliance to manage all aspects of crop production. This role will report to the Plant Manager. This role shall recommend strategies for process improvement, saving costs and energy, oversee and schedule sub-contractor maintenance personnel, and collaborates with the Head Grower, Production Supervisor, Planner/Scheduler and Sanitizer Technician to maintain performance of a closed-loop controlled environment and hydroponics-based GravityFlow System, Food and Safety certification requirements, Audits and all tours.
The Crop Supervisor is expected to embrace challenges, maximizes productivity of all machinery involved in producing crops in a safe environment. The Supervisor must always follow all Food and Safety regulations for every task being performed. This opportunity is to be part of a team in its early stages of making vertical farming a significant contributor to how food is grown for a growing population. This is a salaried, full-time position.
Responsibilities:- Receives and processes equipment, materials, parts and supplies by balancing shipping lists logging documents into system, and storing properly in inventory.
· Contacting vendors and acquiring quotes for installation
· Maintain all crop production/processing machinery, conveyors, and crop storage equipment
· Maintain automated seeding and transplanting equipment
· In some cases, assist with the repairs, installation of systems with contractors
· Oversee elevator lift and fork lift repairs and maintenance
· Design and construct mechanical systems to support research & development projects
· Collaborating with the Head Grower, Planner/Scheduler and Production Supervisor as needed
· Oversee all training, requirements and preventative maintenance needs of plant equipment.
· Contacting vendors and acquiring quotes for maintenance work, special projects and services.
· Collaborating with the Head Grower, Production Supervisor and Plant Manager as needed
· Shall provide additional production support with Gravity Flow and Germination equipment, control HMIs, HVAC system and overall plant systems as needed
· Shall provide additional equipment troubleshooting and repair escalation when necessary.
· Shall ensure all deliveries and pick-ups are properly executed as planned and scheduled.
· Maintain the proper order of Unit 22 and its contents, security and safety.
· Shall be a member of the plant disciplinary committee.
· Perform and document weekend checks as needed and scheduled.
· Oversee the procurement of parts and supplies for plant and plant personnel.
Skills:- Proficiency in using hand tools for equipment and machinery repair tasks- Experience in Food and Safety Regulations and Qualifications preferred- Ability to operate heavy equipment efficiently, ex. forklift and scissor lifts- Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance procedures- Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required- Familiarity with indoor vertical farms and/or greenhouse management practices- Skill in communications among peers, managers, customers, vendors and contractors- Strong ability to maintain crops for optimal growth and yield- Experience in personnel management is a plus
Previous experience in equipment repair and maintenance is beneficial.
Able to work within a team environment, with high intergrity and trustworthiness
* Must have reliable transportation as training, picking up supplies and deliveries is a must.
