“What the Function?” is a monthly web series that seeks to uncover truths about health and wellness. The show speaks to health experts, reviews wellness products, and answers questions from Womanly readers. The show’s mission is to educate viewers while amplifying women in the health and wellness industry.
In honor of our release of our latest of Womanly on Food, let’s talk about food access. This month’s guest is urban farmer, herbalist, and environmental and food sovereignty activist, Nina Weithorn. She is the co-founder of Ziza Urban Farm, a food forest in East Los Angeles that grows and preserves vegetables, medicinal herbs, flowers and fruits. Through her work at Ziza Urban Farm, she also shares resources for restorative gardening and advocates for a more just, decolonized food system.
