The Sr. Director of IT is responsible for providing operational leadership and guidance for the planning, design, implementation and management of ACDI/VOCA ’s technology services. These technology services include business and productivity applications, data, mobility, enterprise architecture, technology infrastructure, technology policies, processes and procedures, cybersecurity, and the service desk. S/he will contribute to our project leadership and management while working with cross functional teams. The Sr. Director of IT will supervise the IT operations staff and will report to our Chief Integration Officer.

Manage the day-to-day operations of ACDI/VOCA enterprise applications, technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, mobility, and other technology services by monitoring performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Establish and implement IT operational policies and procedures; identify key performance indicators; and drive continuous improvement in operational execution. Oversee the operational execution of data governance policies, process, and procedures. Ensure data collection, data analysis and business intelligence elements are executed and support business operations and overall strategic outcomes. Oversee the planning and management of ACDI/VOCA’s telecommunications system and manage company-wide upgrade efforts. Lead team of system administrators and help desk technicians delivering on technology initiatives to enhance organizational productivity and success. Supervise technical staff including hiring, training, evaluating, and mentoring. Determine appropriate coverage for all hours of operation. Be a liaison for technical staff around the globe at ACDI/VOCA’s various projects. Work with overseas staff to implement technical best practices and policies. Provide recommendations on the design and configuration of system applications to meet strategic outcomes, investigating and analyzing the feasibility of technical requirements and the development of system specifications. Work with HQ and field program managers on internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information. Work with/manage external vendors to assist development and support activities. Assist in preparing and managing department’s operating and capital budgets. Minimize impacts and provide leadership in planning and implementation of projects for enterprise applications, technology infrastructure, cyber security, and other technology service projects. Develop and test procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse. Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans. Maintain knowledge of developments in the areas of applications, systems, hardware, cloud technologies, and incorporate new developments into future systems of the organization. Communicate effectively with internal users to assist in identifying needs and evaluating alternative business solutions and strategies. Provides tools, procedures, and training sessions for staff. Fill advisory, facilitative and management roles within the organization. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related degree; advanced degree preferred. A minimum of seven to ten years work experience with similar responsibility in the design and delivery of complex systems, operational execution, and support for technology services. Knowledge and experience in a global organization, preferably in developing countries. Direct experience with the Microsoft Stack, Azure, O365 and the effective use of SharePoint and Teams. Experience working with custom development teams desired. Understanding of and experience with programming languages, database languages, client server application architecture and system performance monitoring tools. Demonstrated effective project management techniques. Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures. Excellent planning, organizing, budgeting, verbal, writing, executive presentation, and meeting management skills. Ability to interact effectively across organization / diverse cultures, and communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Ability to interact effectively with outside vendors and achieve the maximum benefit for internal business constituents when procuring products and services from outside entities. Self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative. Establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility. Respond to emergency situations effectively. NGO industry experience preferred but not required.
