Position Description

This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of our products at retail. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Business Development, the Sales Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for the maintenance of programs that reduce/eliminate Food Safety and quality risks for the consumer, by working closely with the operations, as well as the customer.

This position will be based in Oahu and will require regular inter-island travel.


    • Work with the Food Safety and Quality Manager, as well as the production and sales teams, on standard operating procedures (SOPs) to include food safety and quality at retail
    • Perform SOPs for operations, including data collection (sampling), inspections, testing and reports on product delivered and packaged on Oahu, prior to delivery to and while at retail
    • Compile customer and consumer complaints, record corrective actions and maintain a complaint registry for the company
    • Assist the Food Safety and Quality Manager in recalls
    • Offer assistance to the customer Quality Systems to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and certifications requirements
    • Make regular and frequent calls on retail customer and notice potential quality issues and troubleshoot and escalate to resolution
    • Conduct training to quality and food safety policies and procedures to new hires in sales
    • Actively participate in quality management system improvement projects and initiatives
    • Assist Food Safety and Quality Manager in maintaining and improving procedures, programs, and policies for the Lanai operation and at retail
    • Perform other quality assurance duties as assigned by the supervisor
    • Assist in executing marketing programs at retail
    • Act as back up the Director of Sales and Business Development and the Regional Account Manager, with general sales administration duties
    • Travel inter-island to conduct business


    • Bachelor’s egree in Food Science, Plant Science, Biology or other applicable field of expertise
    • Previous quality assurance and regulated work environment experience, especially in produce, preferred but not required
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Occasional lifting of various materials up to approximately 25lbs
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Ability to interface with all departments and disciplines within the company and customer
    • Team oriented attitude with strong collaboration skills
    • Must be able to prioritize workload and deliver on deadlines
