Position Overview:

The Plumbing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, dismantling, inspecting, repairing, modifying, rebuilding, servicing, and adjust all types of plant equipment.

  • Print reading to include electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.
  • Experience with AC/DC motors and drives, 110-460Vac Circuits, thermocouples, single and three-phase circuits, HVAC, reversing starters, and personnel computers.
  • Communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Troubleshooting, conduit threading, bending installation, wiring installation, electronic repair skills.
  • Work with Packaging Technician and Farm Operators on establishing equipment home-settings and maintaining baseline conditions.
  • Operation of equipment including a forklift, man lift, aerial lift, overhead cranes, and mobile cranes.
  • Use of Voltmeters, calibration of equipment, oscilloscope leaders, PLCs, PCs.
  • Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Must exercise good judgment at all times and can complete assigned tasks, as well as, breakdown repairs without direct supervision. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to the process.
  • Errors could cause serious injury or loss of life for employees or others. Significant financial losses could occur from damage to equipment and/or losses of equipment.
  • Work in an environment with a temperature that varies from extreme good to moderate. Exposure to farm environment: outside heat (110 degrees), (32 degrees cold) (ambient), wet, humid, dirty wet, and some chemical exposure.
  • A high to a very high degree of concentration is required.
  • Strenuous physical activities including a lot of walking, climbing ladders and stairs, entering restricted areas, heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more), and working in high areas.
  • Responsible for the maintaining and sanitation of all work tools

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of plumbing and maintenance experience or successful completion of an approved Plumbing program or Apprenticeship. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must exercise good judgment at all times and can complete assigned tasks as well as breakdown repairs without direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to the process.
  • Ability to work in 30-degree temperature.
  • Must be able to work at heights exceeding 40 feet.
  • Must be able to work solo or with a team as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be willing to learn other maintenance disciplines.

Skills:
