Entrepreneurs Focused on the Future of Food and Farming

January 28, 2021 @ 9:00 am - January 29, 2021 @ 1:00 pm GMT

Join us for two 4 hour sessions where we will explore how to develop your customer value proposition in the AgriTech/agrifood space.

About this Event

This event is funded by the ERDF. Due to this, you will be required to have a UK registered company to take part. You will also be required to fill out a number of forms before the sessions begin.

Knowing your customers and understanding the value your product or service adds to them is extremely important for any business, particularly if you have been operating in another industry and are now looking to enter a new market. Please see some examples below of the types of companies who can join even if you are not currently operating in AgriTech or agrifood, but have the intention of doing so. Essentially, if you are focusing on the future of food, then these sessions are for you.

• Traceability

• IoT

• Hardware

• Software

• Novel farming ideas

• On-farm innovations

• Rural broadband

• Alternative proteins

• Forestry

• Manufacturing

• Inputs

During the first session we will be joined by Rod Horrocks, Project Manager at GFirst LEP. Sarah Carr, Innovation Specialist at Farm491, and Rod will explore breaking down your customer segments and finding out what value you are adding to each. We will then explore how you can translate your customer value proposition into elevator pitches, one-page business plans and pitch decks.

The second session will see Rod and Sarah focus on the lean business canvas. We will then look into hypothesis testing and MVPs. We will also be joined by Phil Mitchell, director at Harbour Key Ltd in Gloucester, who will give us an insight into finance fundamentals.

Although each session is 4 hours, there will be plenty of breaks and interactive sessions. The group size will be small to ensure we can give each of you the bespoke support you require.

Any questions please email Sarah at Farm491: sarah.carr@rau.ac.uk.

You will also be offered a follow-up session after the webinar to give the chance to ask further questions or have feedback on materials produced.
